The hardest part with weight loss is often to stay true to a diet. That’s why it’s best to make lifestyle changes that are sustainable that you can turn into good habits. Changes like eating a breakfast and replacing unhealthy snacks with smarter choices can help you lose weight and keep it off without constantly counting calories or starving yourself. So, to help you make better choices and start losing that weight, I’ve put together some of my favorite weight loss recipes!
#1 – Poached fish in tomato sauce
The fish is an excellent source of protein and omega-3. It is relatively low in calories, easy to cook and very versatile. It’s true that not everyone loves fish, but this dish is a great way to get started. Many familiar spices and flavors help make this fish dish a good starting point. At only 240 calories per serving, it’s still delicious!
#2 – Roasted chickpeas
Are you a serial nibbler? These people are still eating snacks depending on what is available and they tend not to be satisfied between meals. This habit can be difficult to break, but the first step is often to switch to healthier snack options. These chickpeas are easy to make, easy to keep and their protein can help you feel fuller for longer. They are only 60 calories per serving, which is a fraction of standard chips!
#3 – Chicken and Cauliflower Shepherd’s Pie
Fad diets often mean giving up some of your favorite foods, which leads most of the time to wanting more in the end. So, instead of abandoning them completely, transform them, as with this Chinese pie. It is lower in calories, but full of flavor and provides the same comforting feeling that comes with eating the original recipe.
#4 – Strawberry-banana-tofu smoothie
A smoothie is a great snack. It satiates you and the taste is good and without empty calories which is exactly what you need to eat. If you have a sweet tooth and you tend to go for sweets or chocolate, smoothies are a great alternative.
#5 – Oatmeal, quinoa and chia
Did you know that a good breakfast can help you lose weight? Not only does it activate your metabolism in the morning, it helps you stick to a better meal schedule throughout the day. This dish is full of protein, fiber and omega-3 for a good breakfast. You can, of course, add fruit, a touch of honey or brown sugar to personalize it. At only 140 calories per serving, you certainly have some latitude!
Finally, losing weight certainly does not mean eating sad and bland. It is possible to compose healthy and greedy menus while maintaining the pleasure of eating.
